ISLAMABAD: The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a bearish trend on Friday, shedding 724.81 points, a 1.71 percent negative change, closing at 41,741.78 points compared to 42,466.59 points the last day.
A total of 281,894,248 shares changed hands during the day as opposed to 367,356,809 shares the last day, whereas the share price stood at Rs14.709 billion compared to Rs13.590 billion on the previous trading day.
PSX sees bearish trend
A total of 328 companies traded their shares in the PSX; 70 of them made gains and 241 suffered losses, whereas the price of shares of 17 companies remained unchanged.
The top three trading companies were Oil and Gas Dev. with a total of 38,731,937 shares at Rs101.06 per share; Hascol Petrol with 28,035,187 shares with each share’s price being Rs 80.01, and WorldCall Telecom with as many as 27,482,213 shares at Rs1.27 per share.
Colgate PalmXD saw the biggest increase of Rs99.36 per share price, closing at Rs1,464.86, whereas ranked second was Sapphire Tex with an Rs71.62 increase in its price for each share to Rs1,026.62.
Nestle Pakistan witnessed a maximum loss of Rs93.32 per share closing at Rs5,441.67; whereas the runner-up Reliance Cotton an Rs52.50 decline to close at Rs647.50.
