PTCL Group Initiates Clean Drinking Water Drive in Flood-hit Gwadar

QUETTA: Pakistan’s largest telecommunications and integrated ICT services provider, PTCL Group has joined hands with Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) to provide basic relief and deliver up to 30,000 liters of clean drinking water every day for a month to the flood hit communities in Gwadar.

Torrential rains have played havoc in Gwadar, displacing people and leaving them short of basic necessities, such as clean water.

According to a press release on Thursday, the PTCL Group and PRC recognizing the gravity of the situation have stepped up efforts to ensure a supply of clean drinking water to those affected from the natural disaster.

Syed Atif Raza, Chief Marketing Officer, PTCL & Ufone 4G, said, access to clean water is a fundamental human right and vital for survival.

He said the PTCL Group, in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent, is aware of this issue and is taking steps to delivering clean drinking water to thousands of flood-hit families in Gwadar.

He said the group tirelessly work towards ensuring affected communities to have unfettered access to this vital resource.

The PTCL Group through the initiative demonstrates a commitment to help the affected community in Gwadar.

The press release said the PTCL besides providing clean drinking water, earlier had offered 70 free minutes for calls over 7 days in the flood hit areas.  It said the initiative enabled individuals to stay connected with their loved ones in times of difficulty.
