ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates have challenged the outcome of the polls as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) advances with the results after a hiatus of several hours.

PTI-backed Raja Basharat was the first to challenge the ECP announcement when his opponent from the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Malik Abrar was declared winner in NA-55 (Rawalpindi). He posted Form-45 on his X account to say that he has won the constituency by a margin of thousands of votes.

Moonis Elahi also challenged the official results saying that his mother Qaisara Elahi was leading the contest by a margin of over 82,000 votes in NA-64 (Gujrat). The ECP, however, declared Shafay Hussain as a winner.

Moonis Elahi in his tweet said, “NA 69 MandiBahauddin: District returning officer Mandi Bahauddin is under severe pressure from Imdad Ullah Bosal Federal Secretary Finance, Brother of Nasir Iqbal Bosal who is contesting from this NA constituency, to alter results in  favour of his brother. District returning officer is under threat from powerful bureaucratic circles to manipulate results. Earlier in the day they massively rigged in various polling stations & now Imdad Ullah Bosal is himself in field to protect his brother. We warn District returning officer to stop this misadventure against Kausar Muhammad Khan Bhatti who has won this constituency today.”
