KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Ali Haider Zaidi on Wednesday condemned the attack on army installations during violent protests last week in the country following Imran Khan’s arrest.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said that the vandalism was done on the Corps Commander House Lahore, but this was not done by PTI. “I am especially pained over the burning of the martyrs’ monument”, Zaidi said.

He added that the reason the public can sleep peacefully at night is because the soldiers protect our borders.

Zaidi said that peaceful protest was the constitutional right of PTI and no one could stop it from protesting. But the violence and terrorism, whoever did it is extremely condemnable and they must be held accountable.

Ali Zaidi on political struggle

He said that he always believed in a peaceful political struggle.

PTI leader said that he was incarcerated in the last few days and did not know about the incidents that happened these days. He was referring to attacks on government and private installations during protests.

While expressing his full commitment to the party and loyalty to Imran Khan, Zaidi said that will leave PTI when Imran Khan does.
