ISLAMABAD: Members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have appealed to the nation to take to the streets to record their protest against the arrest of PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan from outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday.

Murad Saeed, a former Member National Assembly (MNA) from PTI, said in a Twitter message, “Imran Khan’s life is in serious danger, the hands of his abductors are stained with blood. The nation of Pakistan and our generations will curse us if we allow their heinous plan to succeed today.”

He called the nation, “The leader of the Islamic world, Imran Khan, has been tortured and arrested. Stand up for your leader and your future. Now the revolution will come!”

PTI Fawad Chaudhry on Twitter said, “Former PM Imran Khan has been abducted from court premises, lawyers and general people have been tortured. Unknown people have whisked away Imran Khan to an unknown location.”

He said that the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court had ordered the interior secretary and IG police to appear within 15 min in the court. He said in a separate message that people come out of their homes, Islamabad High Court has been attacked, and Imran Khan’s arrest is equivalent to shutting down the judiciary.

PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi appealed to the nation to come out on the streets against the arrest of Imran Khan and said, “Arrest of Imran Khan is unacceptable.”

Asad Umer said Pakistan’s biggest political leader was arrested after attacking High Court. The whole world is being shown that, currently, there is no rule of law in the country.

He said that a six-member committee headed by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, which Imran Khan formed, will announce the future action plan.

PTI leader Hammad Azhar shared a picture of an empty wheelchair of Imran Khan on Twitter and said Imran Khan gave his entire life to this nation. He risked his life to change the future of the next generation. Today, the nation will stand with this ‘Qalandar’ (Iron Man) and make history.

He said that the people of Lahore must reach Liberty Chowk to record their protest. He tweeted, “May 9 will not be the day of Imran Khan’s arrest, but the day of Pakistan’s independence, God willing. The people reached Lahore Liberty Chowk. The next step will be taken there.”
