ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) on Sunday rejected the appointment of Syed Mohsin Naqvi as Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister.

In a tweet, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said they had rejected the decision to appoint a “controversial” person like Mohsin Naqvi as the chief minister.

“The Election Commission has never disappointed. We have rejected the decision to appoint a controversial person like Mohsin Naqvi as the chief minister,” he said.

Fawad warned that they would protest against the decision. He said there is no way out against this system except struggling on the streets.

He said workers should prepare under the leadership of Imran Khan as they will launch a massive campaign against the appointment.

PTI leader Hamad Azhar also condemned the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as the interim chief minister. He said decisions are made on the streets when the system becomes one-sided.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also rejected the appointment of Mohsin Raza Naqvi as caretaker chief minister.

Parvaiz Elahi has announced to go to the Supreme Court, saying that such a person cannot remain neutral.

PTI leader Musrat Jamshed Cheema said that by appointing Zardari’s frontman as caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Election Commission has once again proved itself as a tool of Bakao and PDM. We reject the nomination of Mohsin Naqvi as Caretaker Chief Minister. This is an outright fraud against which we will protest with full force.
