PTI Senators Attend Joint Session of Parliament

ISLAMABAD: The Joint session of the Parliament under the chair of National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf began on Monday afternoon amid protest from the PTI Senators, who entered the Parliament while chanting slogans against the government and demanded immediate elections in the country.

Earlier today, PTI senators had announced to attend the Parliament’s session; however, before today’s announcement, the PTI lawmakers had announced a boycott of the session.

PTI Senators slams govt’s policies

Later after the beginning of the session, PTI leader of Opposition in the Senate, Shehzad Waseem, while addressing the session, said that the key and sole purpose of the care-taker government was to hold the election and the current caretaker governments in the two provinces should stick to the constitution to fulfil its obligations.

During the session, the lawmakers from both houses will hold debates on matters related to the economy, security and law and order in the joint parliament session.
