LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Mohsin Leghari on Sunday won the NA constituency NA-193 Rajanpur by-poll with a substantial margin against PML-N’s Ammar Leghari.
As per unofficial results of all 237 polling stations, PTI’s Mohsin Leghari secured 90,392 votes while PML-N’s Ammar Leghari bagged 55,218.

Polling started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm evening without any break. The NA seat fell vacant following the death of PTI’s MP Jaffar Khan Leghari. He passed away in Lahore on December 31, last year following a prolonged illness.
Unofficial results from all 237 polling stations of the NA-193 constituency were received about midnight.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had established 237 polling stations in the NA-193 out of which 68 polling stations have been declared sensitive. Reports said that as many as 2,650 police officials have been deployed in the constituency to deal with any annoying situation while personnel of Pakistan Army and Rangers were also patrolling the area.
The top electoral body said in a statement on Sunday morning that a control room had been set up at its secretariat to monitor the polls and address the complaints about the polling. As per the ECP, 11 candidates were contesting in the by-elections.
