KARACHI: The president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter, Ali Zaidi, was arrested by the Sindh police from PTI’s Sindh house on Saturday evening. The news was confirmed by senior PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi.

Naqvi alleged that prior to the arrest, the Sindh police vandalized PTI’s Sindh House. He further claimed that the police officials did not present any legal search warrant or First Information Report (FIR) before taking Zaidi into custody.

Furthermore, Naqvi stated that the raiding party not only broke the cell phones of the party workers who were trying to record the arrest but also confiscated some devices.

The PTI leader’s arrest has caused a stir among the party workers and supporters. They have condemned the Sindh police’s actions and have demanded Zaidi’s immediate release.

Ali Zaidi vocal against Sindh govt’s alleged corruption

Zaidi is a senior PTI leader who has been actively participating in party affairs and has been vocal against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government’s alleged corruption and mismanagement in Sindh.

The reason behind Zaidi’s arrest is still unclear, and no official statement has been issued by the Sindh police or the PPP government.

The PTI Sindh chapter has announced a protest against Zaidi’s arrest and has demanded that the Sindh police release him immediately.

The situation is currently tense in Karachi, and security has been heightened around PTI’s Sindh house.

The arrest of a senior PTI leader has once again raised questions about the government’s crackdown on opposition leaders and their parties.
