PTI’s Expected Long March Causes Rs330m Expenses to National Exchequer

ISLAMABAD: In a big blow to the national exchequer, the federal government has spent over 330 million for security purposes in wake of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s long march threat towards Islamabad, a local TV reported.

The Chief Commissioner Islamabad’s report submitted to the IG Police showed that the government spent more than 210 million rupees to procure vehicles and containers to deal with the expected march.

30 million rupees have been spent on tear gas shells and stores, Rs 47.8 million were spent on food and water for the security personnel positioned in the city and another Rs40 million were spent on miscellaneous expenses.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has announced a long march towards Islamabad although he is still shy to give the final date.
