ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad judicial magistrate on Tuesday handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur to Islamabad Police on a two-day physical remand in a terrorism case related to threatening the government and national institutions.

Judicial Magistrate Ahtisham Alam Khan remanded Gandapur into police custody.

Gandapur, a former federal minister, was detained from outside the Peshawar High Court’s Dera Ismail Khan bench on Thursday in a case pertaining to an audio tape of him purportedly threatening authorities and the police against the possible arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan.

In the audio, Gandapur had allegedly threatened to siege Islamabad if the former premier is arrested, according to the First Information Report registered against him.
