KARACHI: Hassaan Khan Niazi, the nephew of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, was taken into custody by Karachi police on Tuesday after an anti-terrorism court granted him a two-day transit remand to Sindh police, according to local news channels.

The District East Police detained Niazi for questioning in connection with a case filed against him in the Jamshaid Quarters police station on the complaint of one Muhammad Iqbal. In a separate case in Karachi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hassaan Niazi and his associates were charged with inciting people to revolt against national institutions.

According to the FIR, Hassaan Niazi incited people to revolt against national institutions and attempted to cause disharmony in a social media video. Per the FIR, the statement sparked outrage and distress among the general public.

Earlier, Hassaan Niazi was transferred to Quetta

It is worth noting that Barrister Hassan, the nephew of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was arrested outside the Judicial Complex by Islamabad police despite having secured bail. Niazi was then transferred to Quetta, where he was charged with inciting violence and interfering with government affairs. On Saturday, a Balochistan court granted bail to the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.
