PTI’s Imran Khan Reiterates Demand for Early Elections

LAHORE: Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan on Saturday reiterated his demand for early elections in the country as he asked his party leaders and workers to start preparations for snap polls in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Khan, PTI chairman of the popular political party in Pakistan, PTI also hinted to dissolve the two provincial assemblies if the government didn’t announce general elections in the country.

Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary party of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, the cricketer-turned-politician said that early elections are a requirement of the country instead of his party. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi also signaled him to dissolve the provincial assembly of the province. The former prime minister of Pakistan said that he offered the government to hold talks to announce date for the early elections.

He claimed that only early elections are the solution to all problems in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan’s finance minister Ishaq Dar and former finance minister Miftah Ismail are fighting with each other. He claimed that Pakistan’s coalition government alliance Pakistan democratic movement (PDM) cannot visit the public as masses of the country publicly chant slogans against them. He said that earlier his message for the early polls in Pakistan was not perceived properly.
