Public Rally Denounces Indian Atrocities in IIOJK, Marks Burhan Wani’s Martyrdom Anniversary

ISLAMABAD: A large number of people from different walks of life on Monday participated in a rally held in Islamabad to mark the 8th anniversary of Kashmiri freedom fighter Burhan Muzaffar Wani. The rally participants denounced the Indian forces’ atrocities and brutalities against innocent Kashmiri people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The rally was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell (JKLC) at the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad. The rally was attended by Hurriyat leaders AJK Chapter, Kashmiris residing in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and people including women from different walks of life.

The protest rally was led by APHC-AJK leader, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, and joined by others, including AJK minister Imityaz Naseem, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Syed Faiz Naqashbandii, Mir Tahir Masood, Javeed Jahagir, Altaf Hussain Wani, Hassanul Bana, Shaikh Yaqoob, Zahid Ashraf, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Dawood Khan Yousuf Zai, Abdul Majeed Mir, Syed Gulshun, Mian Muzaffar, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Chudhary Shaheen Iqbal, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Shaikh Majid, Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Sultan Butt, Zahid Mushtaq, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Khursheed Ahmed Mir, Raies Ahmed Mir, Rehana Khan, Showket Ahmed Butt, Manzoorul Haq Butt, Benazir Bano, Adv Nabeela Irshad, Najieeb Gafoor Khan, Raja Parviaz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Usmani, Haji Sardar Siddiq, Raja Afsar Khan and hundreds of Kashmiris.

The participants of the rally were holding placards and banners in their hands inscribed with slogans against the Indian government’s illegal occupation of Kashmir and in favour of the freedom movement of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The rally saw people marching towards the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Holding portraits of Burhan Wani and placards adorned with pro-freedom messages, they resounded with chants honoring Kashmiri martyrs and condemning India’s illegal occupation.

The rally participants paid rich tribute to popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani, who was a hero and an icon of the freedom movement. The rally participants said that Burhan Muzaffar Wani will always be remembered as a symbol of resilience and resistance.

They strongly denounced the massive human rights violations and atrocities being committed by Indian troops in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The participants of the rally reaffirmed their commitment to continue Burhan Muzaffar Wani’s mission until the liberation of occupied Kashmir from illegal Indian occupation.

They also demanded the international community particularly the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute and ensure Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention that Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and elsewhere in the world observed the 8th martyrdom anniversary of young freedom fighter Burhan Muzaffar Wani on Monday with the renewed pledge to continue the mission of martyrs.

In Azad Kashmir, protest rallies were organized in all districts of the AJK by Pasban-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Commission and other Hurriyat organizations. In Muzaffarabad, a protest rally was also taken out from Burhan Muzaffar Wani Chowk.
