ISLAMABAD: Panjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday announced four holidays in educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities across the province, for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.

All private and public schools, colleges, and universities in the province will be closed from February 6 to February 9 for the polls scheduled to take place on February 8, 2024.

A public holiday has already been declared for Kashmir Day on February 5, and the election holidays from 6 to February 9 mean that schools, colleges, and universities in the province will reopen on February 12 after a week-long holiday.

It means that schools, colleges, and universities will virtually remain closed for one week from February 5 to February 11.

Revised School Timing in Punjab

Naqvi further said that the adjusted school timings, starting at 09:30 am due to harsh weather conditions in the province, will continue to be in effect until February 3.

A notification regarding the election holidays in Punjab, starting February 6, will be issued by the Punjab government soon.
