Punjab To Receive 35pc More Rains this Monsoon

LAHORE: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has warned the province would get 85 per cent more rain this monsoon season.

PDMA in a notification issued to the relevant authorities about the start of the monsoon season said the rains will start from July 1st across the province.

PDMA has warned about 15 to 50mm of rainfall in the first week of July, meanwhile, expected rainfall in the second week of July will be 25 to 35 mm.

The disaster management body has cautioned about the risk of flooding in urban areas and hill torrents in South Punjab.

PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has asked the administration to take precautionary measures to lessen emergencies. He ordered them to take measures for the drainage system and cleaning of waterways.
