DUSHANBE: Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation and discussed matters of mutual interest. The two sides discussed their joint participation in Moscow’s Victory Day celebrations, to which Rahmon was invited.
The Kremlin press service reported that they also exchanged views on various bilateral topics, including cooperation in counterterrorism and migration. Both leaders agreed to enhance coordination between relevant ministries and the departments.
They expressed confidence that any attempts by certain groups to escalate tensions regarding labor migration, including from Tajikistan to Russia, would be jointly addressed and would not harm the relationship between the two countries.
