Putin to Embark on State Visit to Uzbekistan on Sunday

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undertake a state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan on May 26–27 to further bolster the enduring ties between the two nations. The visit comes at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The agenda of the talks during Putin’s visit will encompass discussions on the current state and future trajectory of the strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. Additionally, the two presidents will hold talks on pressing regional issues of mutual concern.

Putin and Mirziyoyev will also attend the inaugural meeting of the Council of the Regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The state visit will conclude with the signing of bilateral agreements. These agreements are expected to encompass areas such as trade, investment, cultural exchange, and strategic partnerships.
