MOSCOW: Ex-TV Journalist Yekaterina Duntsova was barred from running against Russian President Vladimir Putin in an election to be held in March next year. She was barred due to alleged mistakes in her application to register as a candidate for the election.
Video footage from a central electoral commission meeting revealed a unanimous rejection of Yekaterina Duntsova’s candidacy, citing alleged mistakes in her registration application.
The Commission head, Ella Pamfilova, was subsequently seen offering words of consolation to Duntsova.
