Qatar and Oman Sign Executive Program to Boost Cultural Cooperation

DOHA: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, and the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, have signed an executive program for their memorandum of understanding in the cultural realm.

Dr. Ghanem Mubarak Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at Qatar’s Ministry of Culture, and Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Culture at Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, inked the agreement during the 33rd edition of the Doha International Book Fair.

This memorandum underscores commitments for mutual support across various cultural domains, including books, publishing, authorship, translation, digitization, book fairs, music, theater, libraries, archiving, and the protection and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.

It also emphasizes the strengthening of cooperation between cultural institutions, the organization of cultural events, expertise exchange, joint courses, and collaboration in the realm of intangible cultural heritage.

The agreement, valid for 2024 and 2025, reaffirms both parties’ dedication to bolstering existing cooperation in cultural and artistic endeavors.
