Qatar-Pakistan Agreements Open New Avenues for Employment Opportunities

DOHA: In an effort to boost employment opportunities for Pakistanis, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (SAPM OP&HRD) Jawad Sohrab Malik has signed several Agreements and Letters of Intent (LOIs) with prominent Qatari companies during his visit to Doha.

This initiative will significantly enhance job prospects for the Pakistani workforce in Qatar.

The agreements, inked with esteemed Qatari firms such as Qatari Diyar-Saudi Bin Laden Group Construction (QD-SBG), Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Company W.L.L (HBK), Ali Bin Ali Holding W.L.L, Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al Thani (JMJ) Holding, Tabeeb Care Medical Services, and Al Rawnaq International Commercial Projects, mark a crucial milestone in fortifying bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar in the realm of human resource development.

In addition to these agreements, SAPM Jawad Sohrab Malik held a significant meeting with Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, focusing on the recruitment of Pakistani manpower for various company projects.

The visit also encompassed a tour of the View Hospital, a division of Elegancia Health Care, where the recruitment of Pakistani health professionals is in progress following a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Elegancia Health Care and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) of Pakistan.

The primary aim of these initiatives is to create expanded employment avenues for Pakistani workers in Qatar. SAPM Malik underscored Pakistan’s potential as a key manpower exporter and detailed the government’s efforts to streamline this process through reputable recruitment agencies, skill development, and addressing the needs of foreign employers.

The CEOs of the Qatari companies expressed satisfaction with the Pakistani workforce and conveyed their willingness to increase the presence of Pakistani manpower in their companies in adherence to Qatar’s governmental regulations.

The meetings also highlighted the growing demand for skilled labor in sectors such as services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction, aligning with Qatar’s substantial infrastructural development.

During his three-day visit, Jawad Sohrab Malik also engaged in comprehensive one-on-one meetings with Qatar’s Labour Minister, Interior Minister, and Qatar’s Education Minister. These agreements and discussions represent a significant leap forward in expanding the footprint of the Pakistani workforce in Qatar, fostering mutual economic growth, and strengthening bilateral ties.
