ITANAGAR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during an interaction with residents in Doimukh, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of fostering division within the country based on caste, creed, and religion. He asserted that the BJP deliberately provokes people to engage in conflicts over religious and linguistic identities.
According to Gandhi, the BJP prioritizes the interests of a select group of businessmen over the welfare of the general population, which is facing considerable hardship. In contrast, he highlighted the Congress’s commitment to uniting people and working for their betterment.
Gandhi expressed dissatisfaction with the BJP government, claiming that it is unresponsive to the grievances of the people. He criticized the media for allegedly neglecting to raise pertinent issues faced by the public under the BJP regime.
The statements reflect a broader narrative of political polarization in India, with the Congress leader emphasizing the BJP’s role in exacerbating societal divisions for political gains. The remarks also underscore the contrasting approaches of the two major political parties, with Gandhi positioning the Congress as a unifying force working for the interests of the people.
