RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Heavy rain disrupted the start of the second cricket Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Friday, delaying the toss and raising concerns of a washout.

Both teams remained at their hotels, awaiting an inspection by umpires once the rain ceased. The weather office predicted intermittent monsoon showers throughout the day.

Pakistan, looking to level the two-match series after losing the first Test to Bangladesh by 10 wickets, faces additional challenges.

Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been left out of the squad to spend time with his newborn son, adding to the team’s uncertainties.
