Rain of Moderate to Heavy Intensity Expected Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecast more rain of moderate to heavy intensity with snowfall over the hills across the country from 31 January to 4 February with chances of flash floods in Balochistan.

A westerly wave persisting in the country till 4 February will bring rain across the country including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Sindh, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan during the period.

In Balochistan, rain with isolated heavyfalls with snowfall over the hills is likely in Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Turbat, Kech, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Chagi, Kalat, Gwadar, Jiwani, Naseerabad, Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhel, Pasni, Ormara, Panjgur, Kharan, Noushki, Washuk, Mastung, Sibbi, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi, Loralai, Ziarat, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah and Qila Saifullah on 2-3 February.

In Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir, moderate to heavy rain-snowfall over the hills is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan including Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Diamir, Astore, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar, in Kashmir including Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Neelum valley, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur from 31 January to 4 February with occasional gaps.

Rain in KP

In KP, moderate to heavy rain-snowfall over the hills is likely in Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Chitral, Dir, Buner, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Buner, and Dera Ismail Khan from 31 January to 4 February with occasional gaps.

In Punjab and Islamabad, rain with moderate or heavy with snowfall over the hills is likely in Murree and Galliyat from 31 January to 1 February and 3 and 4 February with occasional gaps.

Light to moderate rain is expected in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, , Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, FaisalabadLahore, Kasur, Sahiwal and Okara from 31 January to 1 February and on 3 and 4 February while in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, and Rahimyar Khan on 2 and 3 February.

In Sindh, light to moderate rain is expected in Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, and Kashmore on 2 and 3 February while cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in other parts of the province.
