Rain, Thunder Likely at Isolated Places in Country: PMD

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday predicted rain and thunder with snow over the hills for isolated areas in the Potohar region, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the next twenty-four hours.

Cloudy weather is predicted in most upper parts of Pakistan while fog is likely to be witnessed over plain areas of Punjab and Sindh in the early morning.  

The federal capital Islamabad’s weather could be partly cloudy and with thunder is expected in the next twenty-four hours. Cloudy weather is also expected in most areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain and thunder with snow over the hills is likely in Kohistan, Abbottabad, Chitral, Kohat, Buner, Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Kurram, Waziristan, and Mansehra.

Cold weather is expected in southern Punjab and thunder with snowfall is likely in Galiyat, Murree, and surroundings. The residents are expected to witness fog in Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, Okara, Multan, and Bahawalpur during the night and early morning.

Dry, cold weather with isolated rain in most parts of Balochistan

In Balochistan, dry and cold weather is expected in most parts while partly cloudy weather with the possibility of rain and light snow is expected over the hills in Chaman, Ziarat, Zhob, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Quetta, and surroundings.

In Sindh, dry and cold weather is expected in most areas while the residents of Larkana, Sukkur, and the surroundings could witness fog. Cloudy weather with rain, thunder, and snow over the hills is expected in Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. – APP
