ISLAMABAD: Islamabad experienced a return of cold weather as rain lashed the capital city and its adjacent areas after a brief break from the winter chill.
The rain brought with it a decline in temperatures, sending citizens reaching for their warm clothing once again. The Met Office forecasts more rain and snowfall in upper parts of the South Asian country. The Met Official said a westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country and likely to continue till Feb 21.
As temperatures dropped, Islamabad’s iconic landmarks were enveloped in mist, adding a picturesque charm to the city.
Rain Turns Weather Chilly in Islamabad
Local media reported that Heavy rain-wind, thunderstorm with snow may cause closure of roads in Murree, Naran, Galiyat, Dir, Kaghan, Shangla, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Hunza, Astore, Skardu, Diamer, Bagh, Poonch, Neelum Valley, and Havellian till February 20.
Similarly, cloudy weather with rain wind-thunderstorm is also expected in AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab and Balochistan.
