Rain-windstorm Expected Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Heavy winds and thunderstorms with rain are expected in many parts of Pakistan including central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Sindh.   According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather will remain hot and humid in some areas of the country during the next 24 hours.

Temperature of major cities recorded today’s morning:

 

  • Islamabad: 30°C
  • Lahore: 32°C
  • Karachi: 31°C
  • Peshawar: 32°C
  • Quetta: 25°C
  • Gilgit: 29°C

During the past 24 hours, parts of Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan experienced heavy winds and thunderstorms with rain.

Rainfall (in millimetres):

In Islamabad, 51 millimetres of rain was recorded in Syedpur, 20 millimetres in Zero Point, 19 millimetres in Golra, 6 millimetres in Bokra, and 4 millimetres at the Airport. On the other hand, in Rawalpindi, 41 millimetres of rain was recorded in Shamsabad, 26 millimetres at Chaklala Airport.
