CHONGQING: Rainstorms have pounded several areas of the Chongqing Municipality in southwest China since Thursday, prompting some districts and counties to issue downpour red alerts.

Some towns in Beibei District had received more than 100 mm of precipitation as of Friday at 6 a.m. On Friday, there was still much rain.

Soeveral regions in Wanzhou District are predicted to receive more rainfall than 100 mm.
