ISLAMABAD: The 3×3 Ramadan Cup Basketball Tournament in Pakistan is set to kick off this Thursday at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad. Ouj-e-Zahoor, Secretary of the Federal Basketball Association, revealed that numerous basketball clubs and departments from across the nation will be participating in the event, which will be played under floodlights.
He emphasized the tournament’s significance in showcasing talent across three distinct categories: Men’s Departmental Tournament, Club Tournament for men, and the Women’s Tournament. The Men’s Departmental Tournament promises fierce competition with 12 teams representing prestigious departments such as Wapda, Army, Navy, and Police.
Simultaneously, the Club Tournament anticipates a grand affair, boasting 48 teams from various cities vying for supremacy. The Women’s Tournament, featuring 12 teams, underscores the increasing interest and involvement of women in basketball.
Ouj E Zahoor highlighted that this year’s 3×3 Ramadan Cup transcends mere competition, describing it as a celebration of basketball and its burgeoning format, 3×3, which has garnered international recognition and popularity. He expressed optimism that the event would significantly elevate the sport’s visibility and attract more youth and sports enthusiasts across Pakistan.
