ISLAMABAD: The prominent religious scholars on Monday unanimously declared that any armed activity against the state of Pakistan would be considered an act of rebellion and would be completely unacceptable.
Terming the Tehreek-e-Taliban’s (TTP) narrative as un-Islamic, ulema said that Pakistan is an Islamic state and its constitution is a clear proof of its Islamic nature, therefore nobody can challenge it in any way and such acts are totally prohibited in Islamic teachings.
Religious scholars call for peace
During ‘Meesaq-e-Wahdat Conference’ organized at Islamic University Islamabad, the clerics expressed their views on extremism, terrorism, and prejudice, declaring all these trends as unacceptable and big hindrances in the way of national development and prosperity.
They stressed that TTP and its leadership should recognize Pakistan as an Islamic state.
They said that the TTP leader Mufti Noor Wali Mehsood and his associates should lay arms to bring peace into the country.
