GAZA, Palestine: The Israeli military reported that at least four rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip early Monday, coinciding with the formal commemoration of the October 7 attacks that occurred the previous year.
The rockets were launched at approximately 6:31 a.m., triggering air raid sirens across communities near the Gaza border. The Israeli Air Force successfully intercepted three of the rockets, while the fourth fell in an open area.
In response, Hamas claimed responsibility for firing at “enemy gatherings” near Rafah, Kerem Shalom, and kibbutz Holit. The Israeli military responded by targeting Hamas launch sites and underground infrastructure throughout Gaza.
Additionally, overnight operations involved Israeli Air Force and artillery strikes against further threats posed by Hamas militants.
Meanwhile, the situation remains tense in northern Israel, where daily rocket fire from Hezbollah in Lebanon continues. Israeli forces are also actively combating threats from the air, including the interception of two aerial targets from the east earlier that day. The escalation further strains an already volatile region.
