NEW DELHI: Renowned Indian character actor, Sushant Singh, recently voiced concerns over the declining quality of Indian content while praising the success of Pakistani dramas.
Singh’s remarks come amidst a surge in popularity for Pakistani shows such as “Khaie”, “Kabli Pulao,” “Parizaad,” “Tere Bin,” and “Ishq Murshid” in India.
During a recent interview with the media, Singh highlighted the stark difference in quality between Indian and Pakistani content. “Our neighbor’s country, Pakistan, whom we consider our enemy, is creating amazing content,” Singh remarked.
He urged Indian creators to introspect and improve their offerings to audiences. Singh questioned the prevailing trend of producing subpar content and emphasized the need for change in the industry’s approach.
“Why are we like this? Why are we producing substandard content? Why are we sending message to those who criticize our content that we don’t want to change? Will we continue producing such content?” Singh pondered.
He underscored the importance of the actors’ community using its influence to advocate for better content standards.
