FAISALABAD: In the month of January, the Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue-1122) office in Faisalabad demonstrated its commitment to public safety by responding to a total of 12,220 emergency calls. District Emergency Officer Zafar Iqbal shared these figures during a monthly performance review meeting, highlighting the organization’s crucial role in addressing various emergencies.
The breakdown of the emergency responses includes assistance to 11,454 individuals, covering a range of incidents such as 2,162 road accidents, 9,120 medical emergencies, 130 fire eruptions, 191 crimes, 4 drowning cases, 4 building collapses, and 609 miscellaneous emergencies. The dedicated Rescue teams provided immediate first aid to 5,152 victims on-site, demonstrating their prompt and effective response to critical situations.
Furthermore, 5,452 individuals were swiftly transported to various hospitals in the district for further medical attention. The Emergency Officer (Operations) Engr. Tariq Mahmood, Incharge Control Room Ghulam Shabbir, and other officers were present during the meeting, reflecting on the commendable efforts of Rescue-1122 in ensuring the well-being of the community.
