BUREWALA: Rescue 1122 managed to rescue the bridegroom and marriage party who were stuck in flood water and brought them to the bride’s house safely here on Saturday in Burewala tehsil of Vehari district of Punjab province.
According to details, the flood water of the Sutlej River damaged hundreds of villages and thousands of acres of standing crops, whereas the water entered into Mianwali Basti after destroying the safety embankment.
Meanwhile, a citizen, Abdul Kareem, who was a resident of the same village, was scheduled to tie the knot on Saturday. Soon after he and the marriage party were leaving for the house of the bride, they were stuck in flood water as a result of the erosion of a nearby river.
Rescue 1122 Saving the Marriage Party
After getting the information, officials from Rescue 1122 arrived at the spot and rescued the bridegroom and other members of the marriage party from the strong waves and deep waters of the Sutlej River and shifted them to a safe place. The Rescue team also provided food to the marriage party.
The bridegroom Abdul Kareem who was wearing a bridal suit and sherwani and his relatives team thanked the rescue team for their timely arrival and for saving their lives.
