ISLAMABAD: International human rights organizations are needed to act neutrally and avoid a biased approach to the ongoing insurgency and militancy in Balochistan. Instead of appeasing separatist elements, human rights organizations are required to uphold impartiality and human rights principles.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) led by Dr. Mahrang Baloch has been vocal in its propaganda against the Pakistani military. However, the BYC is reluctant to condemn the brutalities of the militant groups, including the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), against innocent civilians in Balochistan.

Pakistani authorities are committed to addressing human rights concerns and have taken concrete steps to bring perpetrators to justice. The government had facilitated Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s long march. The government is addressing the genuine grievances.

The BYC has links to banned separatist organizations such as the BLF and the BLA, which are accused of numerous terrorist attacks and atrocities against civilians in the region. These groups exploit genuine grievances for their own agendas, manipulating narratives to suit their goals.

Meanwhile, international human rights organizations are largely silent on the severe human rights violations occurring in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These organizations’ focus on the Balochistan issue is part of a broader agenda that undermines Pakistan’s national sovereignty and security.

International bodies need to maintain neutrality and avoid being used as tools for propaganda by separatist groups. Pakistani authorities have always welcomed constructive criticism and collaboration on human rights issues. However, the government firmly opposed any attempts to undermine its national security or promote separatist agendas.

Pakistan remained committed to addressing genuine grievances and upholding human rights for all its citizens.
