ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has successfully concluded several unprecedented deals at the four-day International Human Resources & Labour Services Expo in Riyadh held from December 24 to 27.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) Jawad Sohrab Malik led the Pakistani delegation at the Expo to showcase Pakistan’s workforce on a global platform.
SAPM Jawad Sohrab Malik played a key role in orchestrating Pakistan’s participation in the Expo and inaugurated Pakistan’s Pavilion at the event. Moreover, more than a dozen agreements were signed with Saudi and international companies to enhance employment prospects abroad for the Pakistani workforce.
These agreements would create opportunities for Pakistani workers in diverse sectors, including construction, hospitality, IT, the services industry, and various other fields globally. The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), a component of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistan and Human Resource Development, was also represented at the Expo by its Managing Director, Naseer Khan Kashani. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, and representatives from multinational organizations also attended the Expo.
Emphasizing the significance of the Expo, SAPM highlighted its role as a crucial forum that brings together human resources, recruitment companies, and accredited labor services entities. He underscored that the Expo provides a valuable opportunity for Pakistan to engage with the global community, understand international market needs, and align its skills with the evolving demands of the job market.
Riyadh Expo Marks Milestone: Jawad Malik
Commenting on the occasion, SAPM Jawad Sohrab Malik stated that the Expo offers a unique platform for Pakistan to showcase the capabilities and potential of its labor force. He emphasized that the Expo is not merely about job opportunities but also reflects Pakistan’s dedication to skill development and its commitment to global competitiveness.
SAPM Malik said, “Today, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, through its department OEC, takes pride in representing Pakistan at the Expo, showcasing the rich potential of Pakistan’s technical workforce on this significant global platform for the first time.”
Looking forward, SAPM Malik outlined exciting plans to establish new vocational training centers across Pakistan tailored to meet the job market demands, particularly in regions like Saudi Arabia. This initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to developing a skilled workforce prepared to tackle global challenges.
The Expo also paved the way for collaboration with Saudi entities in vocational training and skill development, positioning OEC as a leader in exporting skilled manpower from Pakistan, as well as private Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs).
SAPM Malik expressed that participation in the Expo goes beyond being an event; it serves as a gateway for the Pakistani skilled workforce, opening up new horizons and showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to its citizens, both domestically and internationally.
