Rizwan Saeed Sheikh Assumes Responsibilities as Pakistan’s New Ambassador to US

WASHINGTON DC: The newly appointed Pakistani Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has formally assumed his diplomatic responsibilities as Pakistan’s envoy to the US, a statement said on Thursday.

According to the statement, the newly appointed Ambassador had spent a busy day at the embassy. The Ambassador had a detailed meeting with the officers of the Embassy. Later, the heads of different departments gave a detailed briefing to the newly envoy. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh also held a zoom meeting with the Consul Generals of Pakistan in the US.

Talking to the officers, the Ambassador emphasized the significance of Pak-US ties. He said that cementing multifaceted Pak-US ties, strengthening economic relations and enhancing people to people linkages would remain his primary priorities. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of the Pakistani diaspora in the United States, describing them as a valuable asset of the nation.

The Ambassador noted that the community was serving as a strong bond in Pak-US ties. He added that every possible effort should be made to ensure better service delivery to the Pakistani community. The envoy stressed upon the need to pursue result-oriented diplomacy. Earlier upon his arrival in Washington, the Ambassador was received at the airport by officials of the US State Department and the officers of the Embassy.
