ISLAMABAD: A recent Round Table discussion titled “Unravelling the Nexus: False Flag Operations and Electoral Politics of India” took place in Islamabad as India approaches its general elections.
Organized by the India Study Centre at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), the event brought together former diplomats, defence practitioners, think-tank representatives, and members of the media and academic community.
The discussion aimed to assess the potential implications of false flag operations on regional stability and emphasize the need for responsible actions in the South Asian geopolitical landscape.
The participants delved into historical precedents, modus operandi in previous instances, and the impact of such occurrences on public perceptions related to peace, security, and Pak-India bilateral relations.
The discussion also focused on the Pulwama incident, Pakistan’s response to the Balakot strike, and the country’s engagement in strategic, diplomatic, and information arenas. Experts highlighted Pakistan’s firm resolve and measured, effective responses, emphasizing the importance of vigilance, overall preparedness, proactive diplomacy, and international support for maintaining strategic stability in South Asia.
