Rs2.32/unit Reduction in December FCA for Power Distribution Companies

ISLAMABAD: The fuel adjustment charges (FCA) of the month of December 2022 for the Distribution companies (DISCOs) has been reduced by Rs2.32 per unit.

The notification in this regard has been issued by national Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra). The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had applied for a reduction of Rs2.20 per unit.

Nepra had conducted an assessment public hearing on January 31, 2023, against this application.  Before this, the November FCA was Rs0.19 per unit up which was charged for one month.

Reduction of FCA does not apply to KE consumers

December FCA is Rs2.51 per unit less than November. Its application would be only for one month’s bills.

Its application will not be on lifeline consumers up to 300-unit users who are household consumers, agriculture users and electric vehicle charging stations.

It will also be not application for KE consumers.
