MOSCOW: Russia said on Saturday that it successfully targeted and destroyed facilities within Ukraine associated with the military-industrial complex.

In a daily briefing, the Russian defense ministry stated that a group strike was conducted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation against locations producing ammunition and drones in Ukraine.

The focus of the strikes was on facilities involved in the production of shells, gunpowder, and unmanned aerial vehicles, with the ministry confirming the successful impact on all designated targets.

Earlier, Ukraine had reported 40 drones and missiles launched from Russia, with eight missiles intercepted and “more than 20 devices” disabled through electronic warfare. No fatalities were reported at the time, but Ukrainian authorities mentioned a civilian being wounded in the northeastern Sumy region.

In response to the heightened threat, Ukraine’s neighbor Poland activated air defense systems briefly before returning to normal, said the Polish Air Force.
