Russian Air Strikes Target Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine

KYIV: Russian air strikes targeted several buildings in Kryvyi Rih, the central Ukrainian city, early Tuesday, leaving “dead and wounded”, local officials said as missile and drone attacks were reported in capital Kyiv and other cities.

The head of Kryvyi Rih’s military administration Oleksandr Vilkul said in a Telegram post that a five-storey building was among the civilian targets attacked by “high precision monsters”.

He said that the ambulance service is providing help, there are victims in very serious condition, and some people are probably under the rubble.

Dnipropetrovsk region’s governor Serhiy Lysak said that there had been a huge missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. Several people are dead and wounded, details would be released later.

Ukrainian capital Kiyv, northeast city of Kharkiv also attacked

The Ukrainian capital Kiyv and the northeast city of Kharkiv also attacked with drones and missiles.

Kyiv city military administration said that as per initial reports, the enemy forces used Kh-101/555 cruise missiles.

It said that all enemy targets in the airspace around the capital were detected and successfully destroyed by the troops and means of air defence. There were no immediate information on any damage or casualties.

In Kharkiv, civilian infrastructure was targeted in a drone attack, according city’s mayor Ihor Terekhov.

He said that a utility company in Kyivskyi and a warehouse in Saltivskyi were damaged damaged. A blaze broke out after the explosion on the latter.

Air alerts were also sounded in Donetsk, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The fresh wave of air strikes came after Kyiv claimed to have retaken several villages from Russian troops and made significant advances in its counter-offensive against Russian troops.
