Russian Drone Strike Kills 6 in Ukraine

KYIV: An overnight Russian drone strike on Ukraine’s city Kharkiv killed at least six people and injured ten others, the city’s mayor said on Saturday.

The development was also confirmed by national emergency services of Ukraine and said in a statement via social media that six people were killed and ten wounded as “a result of an enemy attack”. Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov said in a statement via Telegram post that the strike had attacked Shevchenkivskyi.

Terekhov stated that Iranian-made drones had conducted the attack, targeting at least 9 high-rise compounds, three halls and a petrol station. The regional governor stated that two men were killed in Shevchenkivskyi region.

Police officials also confirmed the deaths and stated around 8 people were hospitalized after the strike. police said that among the injured are two women and six men.

Police maintained that there were no casualties in a separate strike on Mala Danylivka, a village on Kharkiv’s outskirts. Images released by police personnel on Telegram showed various fires in civilian regions, including near a high-rise building.

Officials said several compounds were damaged in the strike, including residential areas and a petrol station. The strike came as Ukraine’s air force also reported multiple groups of Russian drones across the country.
