Russian President Putin Offers Condolences and Assistance to China Following Earthquake

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping in the wake of the devastating earthquake in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan. In a telegram of condolence, President Putin expressed sympathy for the loss of numerous lives and conveyed Russia’s readiness to provide assistance in dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7, struck China’s Sichuan province, resulting in tragic consequences. Reports indicate that at least 70 people lost their lives, and over 700 individuals suffered injuries. The Kremlin’s press service highlighted President Putin’s commitment to supporting China during this challenging time and offering help to mitigate the consequences of the earthquake.

The solidarity between Russia and China in extending condolences and providing assistance underscores the importance of international cooperation and support during natural disasters.
