ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top-order batter Saim Ayub has expressed his determination to carefully focus on his rehabilitation, aiming to be match-ready for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in just a few weeks.
While talking to reporters in London, Saim Ayub addressed the pressing question of his fitness for the upcoming Champions Trophy, stating, “I’ll give it my all, and the doctors will too, but I can’t say anything with certainty.”
The dynamic batter admitted, “I have no clue about my recovery timeline. All I can promise is that I’ll put in my best effort.”

Saim Ayub, a key player in Pakistan’s batting lineup, sustained an ankle injury while fielding during the first day of the second Test against South Africa in Cape Town. Following the incident, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) arranged for him to receive medical treatment in London, where he has been for the past two weeks, consulting with doctors and physiotherapists. “I humbly ask everyone to pray for my recovery; your prayers mean the world to me,” he added.
When asked about his recent back-to-back centuries and the increasing reliance on him by the team, he remarked, “I don’t believe the entire team depends on me. It takes a collective effort; every player matters.”
