ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s cricketing stars, Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha, have made notable strides in the latest ICC rankings for both white-ball and red-ball formats, thanks to their stellar performances in recent matches.
Rising star Saim, who was honoured with the Player of the Series title after Pakistan’s commanding 3-0 series victory over South Africa, surged an impressive 57 places to secure the 23rd position with 603 rating points.
His remarkable display, featuring two centuries during the series, has firmly established him among the elite in international cricket.
Vice-captain Agha also showcased significant progress, climbing 28 spots to reach 80th place with 468 rating points.
In the ICC ODI batter rankings, Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan ascended three positions, moving from 24th to 21st with 612 rating points.
Babar Azam continues to reign supreme in the ODI rankings, holding the top spot, with India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third place.
Conversely, Abdullah Shafique faced a challenging series, suffering three consecutive ducks, which resulted in a drop of 21 places to 98th.
Pakistan’s opening batsmen, Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq, experienced a slight setback, each falling one spot to 17th and 19th, respectively.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam continues to reign supreme in the ODI rankings, holding the top spot, with India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third place.
In the ODI bowling rankings, Haris Rauf slipped from 15th to 16th, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. is positioned at 61st. Naseem Shah made a significant leap, rising 10 places from 61st to 51st, while Mohammad Nawaz fell six spots to 73rd.
Rashid Khan remains the leading bowler in the ODI rankings, with Shaheen Afridi now in third place, overtaken by India’s Kuldeep Yadav in second.
In the T20I rankings, Babar and Rizwan held steady at sixth and eighth, respectively, while Saim climbed one spot to 57th. Despite being sidelined, Fakhar and Iftikhar Ahmed both ascended one position to 68th and 78th, respectively.
Australia’s Travis Head tops the T20I batter rankings, followed by England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Varma. Shaheen dropped two places in the T20I bowler rankings, now sitting at 23rd with 599 rating points, while Haris Rauf also experienced a decline, falling to 28th.
Young pacer Abbas Afridi slipped one spot to 43rd, while Shadab Khan made a slight improvement, moving up two places to 69th.
In the Test rankings, Babar advanced two spots among Test batters, reaching 15th with 670 rating points. Agha and Rizwan also improved their standings, now ranked 18th and 19th, respectively. However, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique both saw declines, dropping to 44th and 50th.
Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, currently out of international play, has seen his ranking rise to 72nd. In the Test bowling rankings, Noman Ali moved up one place to 9th, while Afridi remains in 18th.
Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan held their ground at 38th and 40th, respectively, with Naseem Shah ranked 41st, and Abrar Ahmed and Khurram Shehzad at 58th and 60th.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowler rankings, followed closely by South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood.
