NEW DELHI: Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has hinted at her ongoing quest for love again after her divorce from former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Earlier this year, Malik’s announcement of his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed confirmed speculations about his split from Sania.
In a recently dropped teaser for an upcoming episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ on Netflix, featuring Mirza alongside several other current and former Indian athletes, the tennis star revealed her openness to finding a new love interest.
During the episode, set to air later this week, Kapil jokingly reminded Sania about Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan’s offer to portray her love interest in a potential biopic movie about her life. Mirza humorously replied, “First, I need to find a love interest myself.”
It’s worth noting that Mirza and Malik had married in 2010. In January this year, her father Imran Mirza confirmed their separation after Malik announced his third marriage to actress Sana Javed.
Imran Mirza had said that her daughter had sought separation from Shoaib Malik through Khula, the right of a Muslim woman to initiate a divorce from her husband.
