HYDERABAD: Tennis star Sania Mirza took to social media to post a picture of herself in front of a mirror along with the caption – “Reflect”. Her post came just days following she announced her divorce with former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik.
After Shoaib’s marriage with Pakistani actress Sana Javed, Mirza’s family confirmed on social media that Sania and Shoaib were divorced for “a few months now”.
The divorce marked the end of a high-profile marriage that created a lot of interest both in Pakistan and India over the years.
Sania’s One-Word Post Just Days After Announcing Divorce with Shoaib
The rumors gained momentum when Shoaib Malik unfollowed Sania on social media flatform Instagram, a move that further fueled speculation regarding their problems. They have a five-year-old son Izaan, who is currently living with Mirza. Sania, in a recent Instagram post, had referred to personal struggles.
Earlier, the father of Sania Mirza broke the silence on the divorce of his daughter from Shoaib Malik. Imran Mirza said that Sania was the one who sought separation from Shoaib Malik through khula.
Sania Mirza got married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik back in April 2010, whereas their first child, Izhaan, was born in Oct 2018.
