MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq paid tribute to the late former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, stating that he has left behind a proud legacy that will continue to inspire future generations for freedom movement.
Prime Minister Haq expressed these sentiments during his visit to the mausoleum of the deceased leader in Rawalakot on Wednesday.
Accompanied by senior Minister Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, Mir Akbar Khan, Sardar Hassan Ibrahim Khan, and others, he placed a floral wreath at the grave of Ghazi Millat and offered Fatiha for the departed soul. A smartly turned out contingent of Azad Jammu Kashmir police presented a salute during the ceremony.
Sardar Ibrahim Khan Role for Kashmir freedom movement
The Prime Minister acknowledged the significant role played by the former President and his colleagues in the Kashmir freedom movement. He referred to Azad Kashmir as the land of martyrs, liberated through immense struggle and sacrifices by their ancestors. He emphasized the collective responsibility of protecting this land and its sovereignty.
Prime Minister Haq also commended Sardar Khalid Ibrahim for his principled politics, contributions, and selfless service to the people of Azad Kashmir.
In another event organized by the Sudhan Educational Conference, the AJK Prime Minister highlighted the importance of tourism as a solution to the region’s problems. He pointed out the vast tourism potential in the Poonch division, emphasizing that promoting tourism could enhance the quality of life for the local population.
The Prime Minister assured that taxpayer funds would be utilized honestly for the welfare of the people, with particular attention to improving water supply, sewage systems, education, health, tourism, and road infrastructure in the Poonch division.
Addressing the dire political and human rights situation in Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar urged the global community to take effective action against Indian state terrorism in the region. He reiterated that the promotion of the Kashmir cause, both nationally and internationally, was a top priority for the current coalition government.
He emphasized that a strong and prosperous Pakistan was essential for the freedom of occupied Kashmir and warned that any Indian misadventure on the Line of Control would be met with a forceful response.
