Saudi Ambassador Meets Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Affirms Strong Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: His Excellency Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, the esteemed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif earlier Monday, marking an important milestone in diplomatic relations between the two nations.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sincere gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, for their gracious congratulatory messages on his re-election as Prime Minister. This gesture underscored the deep-rooted bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Highlighting the exceptional fraternal ties between the two countries, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that Ambassador Al-Malkiy was the first envoy he received after assuming office, signifying the significance attached to the bilateral relationship. Emphasizing the priority of his government, the Prime Minister reiterated the commitment to elevate the longstanding relations with Saudi Arabia to a strategic and economic partnership, with a particular emphasis on attracting Saudi investment for sustainable development projects in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation to the Saudi authorities for their efforts in expanding the “Road to Makkah” initiative, aimed at facilitating Pakistani Hajj pilgrims. This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the comfort and well-being of pilgrims from Pakistan during their sacred journey to the holy sites.

In response, Ambassador Al-Malkiy extended a warm invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Saudi Arabia, affirming the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s development endeavors. He assured the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia’s enduring partnership and reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering a stronger and prosperous Pakistan through mutual collaboration and cooperation.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their dedication to further strengthening the multifaceted ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for the mutual benefit and prosperity of their peoples.
