Saudi Ambassador, Pakistan’s Secretary Interior Discuss Plan for Faisal Mosque Renovation

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al Maliki, on Wednesday called on Pakistan’s Secretary of Interior, Aftab Akbar Durrani, to discuss the plan for the renovation of Faisal Mosque in Islamabad.

Secretary Interior welcomed the Saudi envoy at his office and offered all support for the renovation of the Faisal Mosque, built after the name of Late Shah Faisal, with Saudi Arabia’s cooperation.

Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Relations

Aftab Akbar Durrani and Saudi diplomat agreed to further promote bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Durrani said that these relations were exemplary, expressing hope to consolidate them further.

He also appreciated Imam Kaaba’s recent visit to Pakistan, and the Saudi envoy expressed best wishes for the upcoming elections in Pakistan.

The Secretary of Interior informed the envoy that Road-to-Makkah was a wonderful project and said Karachi would also be included in this project for the upcoming Hajj.

He informed the diplomat that the Passport and Immigration department had started the E-passport process for the facilitation of the public while new machines would be installed for smooth functioning.

He said Islamabad is also interested in the Jeddah Exhibition, in which the Ministry of Interior would actively participate.
